Ohio Dominican University’s History


Ohio Dominican University was chartered in 1911 as the College of Saint Mary of the Springs. It was originally founded as a women's college and became co-educational in 1964. The name was changed to Ohio Dominican College in 1968 and finally became a university in 2002. Ohio Dominican University now offers a fully accredited continuing education program where diversity is embraced and individualism is celebrated. Each Ohio Dominican University class teaches adult students the skills that are valuable in their careers and their lives.
